Chicago magazine is a Finalist for Seven Awards

Today the National City and Regional Magazine Award finalists were announced online. We’re thrilled to report that Chicago magazine has been named a finalist in these seven categories:

  • Best reporting: “The $53 Million Bamboozle” by writer-at-large Bryan Smith
  • Civic Journalism: “Lawbreakers, Lawmakers” by David Bernstein and Noah Isackson
  • Reader Service: “Best Public Schools” by Steve Hendershot, Owen Hurd, Geoffrey Johnson, Dennis Rodkin, and Jennifer Tanaka
  • Food or Dining Feature Package: “The Discerning Drinker’s Guide to Chicago” by Barri Leiner Grant, Nora O’Donnell, Jeff Ruby, Lena Singer, Jennifer Tanaka, Lauren Viera, and Jennifer Wehunt
  • Food or Dining Writing: Jeff Ruby (as seen here, here, and here)
  • Multiplatform Storytelling: “Chicagoans of the Year” (online content by Esther Kang; print story by Cassie Walker Burke, Noah Isackson, Geoffrey Johnson, Bryan Smith, and David Zivan)
  • Excellence Online: Staff
