Three Lincoln Park plots of land, purchased by Matthew Pritzker

LINCOLN PARK
SALE
$7.21 MILLION

Seven years ago, Matthew Pritzker and his sister, Liesel, each received a $280 million settlement following a bitter legal battle over their family’s fortune. Now we know how Matthew spent some of that loot: acquiring three adjoining lots on an elite Lincoln Park street.

Pritzker began his buying spree in 2006, when he paid a builder $1.46 million for a new house. Two years later, he bought the residence next door for $2 million, and last July he bought the one next to that for $3.75 million. Pritzker has no plans to put up a megamansion on the three lots, says his spokesman, Elliot Sloane.

Currently, Pritzker lives in the first house (above, at right). He tore down the middle residence—a two-story red brick abode—in the fall. According to Sloane, he plans to install a landscaped yard there and use the third property as a rental. Through his Matthew Pritzker Company, the 29-year-old also invests in commercial real estate, as well as in the HomeMade Pizza Company, Hugo Naturals (which makes soaps and other personal care products), and several Internet companies.
