It started in Bridgeport. That’s where Kevin Hickey (Four Seasons hotels, Rockit Ranch) grew up eating a hodgepodge of global grub and playing Atari games at the decades-old Gem Bar. Now Hickey, with his RR partners, owns that Bridgeport building and has turned it into the gastropub of his dreams.

In the funky, fun space up front, grab an oversize Duck Fat Dog and one of the beers on tap, some made exclusively for the Duck by the local brewer Begyle. The dish to have in the quieter midcentury modern dining room is the gorgeous rotisserie duck for two. 2701 S. Eleanor St., 312-724-8811
