I was so excited when Cédric Charlier, who left Cacharel in October of 2011, launched his own line last fall. His wonderful way with fabrics and crisp silhouettes were spot-on when he designed for the venerable French house, and his namesake collection plays to these strengths. This white cotton blouse is a great transition piece for wearing beneath layers, or, when the weather warms, with shorts or a skirt. It always amazes me how a little detail—in this case, a gathering at the waist—can turn a simple piece into something special and a little edgy.
