Stranger than Fiction A lot of plays are hyped as “smart”; few live up to the promise. But Fiction—a story that, from a lesser playwright, could have been a sappy Lifetime movie—makes the cut, thanks to Steven Dietz’s witty repartee and highly literate characters. If the Slipper Fits Redmoon can take almost any idea and make it avant-garde. The troupe strikes again with The Princess Club, a modern examination of female-fronted fairy tales (Rapunzel, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty) that combines physical comedy, spectacular costuming, puppetry, and a hip-hop runway. One word of caution (or titillation): Although it was inspired by childhood stories, this show is for adults only.
