The first thing you notice about Streeterville Social (455 N. Park Dr., 312-840-6600) is that it's massive. The Loews Hotel's third-floor rooftop clocks in at around 9,000 square feet of outdoor space, and after work and on the weekends it becomes a bit of a playground for casual imbibers looking for a glass of rosé and a game of cornhole with a pretty impressive backdrop.
There's a small sit-down bar area as well as tons of outdoor couches for the mixed crowds that come through (this isn't a total scene, like some other rooftops we've swung through over the years.) If cornhole isn't your bag, there's also pétanque and a giant Jenga set for use on the bar's grassy swath. A light menu of bites is also available. Drinks lean toward light and refreshing, with lots of sweet stuff and fruit.
Here's what all we saw when we stopped in this weekend.
