It’s been close to a month since the doors opened to Scofflaw, a Logan Square bar and lounge that, like certain cocktail-driven predecessors, resembles an alluring, dimly lit sitting room. But Scofflaw distinguishes itself as a gin joint—for the most part—and the juniper-derived liquor is the star ingredient of about half of its signature drinks. Our photographer surveyed the scene, where head bartender Danny Shapiro, formerly of The Whistler, served up the spirits and revelers nibbled on refined bar bites by chef Mickey Neely, a Longman & Eagle alum.
