Monday, 5/13:
Flip for flamenco at Café Ba-Ba-Reeba (2024 N. Halsted St, 773-935-5000), where the Spanish dance quartet El Payo will clap and stomp for diners. Cover is $15 for the show, which starts at 7 p.m.
Tuesday, 5/14:
Taste toffee—and learn how to make your own—at ENO Wine Bar (505 N. Michigan Ave., 312-321-8738). Margy Kaye of Sweet Margy Confection Diva will teach guests to prepare English-style toffees while they drink wine. Tickets are $35, and classes start at 6 and 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, 5/15:
Get a free gluten-free cookie at Senza (2873 N. Broadway, 773-770-3527). In honor of the Ides of May—er, National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day—the mornings-only bakery inside the restaurant will give away one cookie per customer from 9 a.m. to noon.
Saturday, 5/18:
Pop in to Cheese Café (1051 N. Rush St., cheesesoffrance.com), a one-day pop-up event where guests can sample cheeses, macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese, wine, and soda. Entrance is free 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sunday, 5/19:
Turn back time—and mark it passing forward—in a celebration of Cher’s birthday at Kit Kat Lounge and Supper Club (3700 N. Halsted St., 773-535-1111). Diva Madame X will impersonate the singer, actress, and camp icon. Meanwhile, a selection of Cher’s movies and music videos play on jumbo screens. Brunch starts at 11 a.m., and the martini menu is half-priced all day.
