When the owners of Lincoln Park’s Comfort Me (701 W. Armitage Ave., 312-255-1412) heard that the University of Chicago was trying to revitalize Hyde Park and bring more restaurants and independently owned shops to the South Side neighborhood, they decided to get in on the action.
That’s why, on August 1, 5241 S. Harper Ave. became the location of a pop-up version of Comfort Me.
It’s full of all the things that make the original boutique so irresistible: Vintage and antique home furnishings and décor, such as armoires, desks, picture frames, and bottles. At the moment, the lease is only through the end of January. But the owners say that, if it’s a success, they will consider becoming a permanent part of Hyde Park.
Here’s hoping!
