On Sunday, aficionados of both baked goods and dark liquor come together for Cake and Whiskey Club's Sadie Cakins Dance at Punch House (1227 W. 18th St., Pilsen), a post-Valentine's Day party for all things sweet and the fourth monthly meetup of the food-focused social club.
The cake in question was an almond-cherry wink cake made by the crew at Dusek's, and the Kentucky Vecchio punch was a swirl of coffee, amaro, amaretto, and Koval whiskey. As the sold-out event's 80 guests who filtered in throughout the evening snacked and sampled, Girl Group Chicago spun oldies hits. Proceeds from the event went to the ElevArte Community Studio's youth art programs in Pilsen.
Want to get in on the baking-based fun next month? March's Monopoly-themed event is at the Den Theatre (1333 N. Milwaukee Ave., Wicker Park), and $30 tickets are available now.
