After opening Bucktown women's boutique Von Z (1872 N. Damen Ave., 872-206-5954) less than one year ago, husband and wife team Patrick and Jenna Zielbauer have decided to shutter the shop on May 10. Until then, all merchandise is 40 percent off with further markdowns coming as the final days near.
"We would have loved to continue with Von Z, but it simply became a time issue," Jenna Zielbauer says. Along with running the store, the Zielbauer's have also been working on their own line of graphic tees called Casual Friday—and it's quickly taken off.
Since launching the line in January, Casual Friday has been picked up by more than 150 stores. Buyers are loving the cheeky phrases printed on the line of super soft tees and slouchy sweatshirts, like "Haute Mess," "Wirkin for a Birkin," and "In Case of Emergency Please Save my Shoes." You can shop the line ($46–$70) online or in person beginning May 13 when the Zielbauer's convert Von Z into a Casual Friday pop-up store for the summer, through July 26.
