Chicago designers Kara Mann, Jessica Lagrange, Nate Berkus, and David Grout of Gary Lee Partners hit the second floor of Hermès to give their clients’ homes a touch of patrician, equestrian-inspired luxury. That’s where this famous purveyor of silk scarves and leather goods keeps its tight selection of home goods. While the company’s exquisite hand-painted china is readily recognizable, many people don’t know that Hermès manufactures a few select pieces of furniture. The Oak Street location has a teak end table ($6,550, see below); you can also order desks and chairs through the store. Another status symbol: an Hermès throw. The woven leather ones ($1,750; see above) will fit your sofa like a glove. Or be the first on your block to own a popular French parlor game ($1,875; below). 110 E. Oak St., 312-787-8175.
