1 Seasonal Flavors From Jeni’s — Before They’re Released
We’re not entirely sure how Plum pulls this one off — magic? trickery? a source on the inside? — but the store manages to stock pints of the much-loved artisanal ice cream maker’s seasonal flavors, like cognac with gingerbread, before they’ve been announced and even before they’re being scooped in Jeni’s own stores. If history is any indication, look for spring flavors to start blossoming here around early February. $9.99 a pint
2 No Dairy? No Problem
Plum sells four can’t-believe-it’s-not-dairy flavors of Frönen coconut-milk-based ice creams: banana-coconut, Madagascar vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Bonus: They’re all locally made. $8.99 a pint
3 Mochi Madness
Mochi is usually wrapped around ice cream, but My/Mo inverts this, studding its silky-smooth pints — based on traditional flavors of the Japanese dessert, like mango and green tea — with bits of the sweet rice dough. It’s perfect for ice cream treasure diggers. $6.99-$8.49 a pint
4 Lots and Lots of “Healthy” Options
Perhaps it’s because Plum is surrounded by high-end fitness studios like SoulCycle and Row House, but you’ll find a particularly generous stock of low-cal, keto-friendly options, from a completist’s lineup of Halo Top flavors to Rebel’s decadent peanut butter fudge, which boasts a mere eight grams of carbs per pint. Prices vary.
