One of the most-talked-about spots of late, Joe Frillman’s Daisies isn’t new, but with its move nearby to a brighter, airier space, the addition of Leigh Omilinsky (pictured, below) as pastry chef-partner, and extra daytime hours, it certainly feels like a fresh addition to the city’s dining scene. The dinner menu also expanded, but, thankfully, many favorites made the overhaul: The onion dip! The fritto misto! The beet agnolotti! And yet, as lovely as dinner here is, it’s daytime Daisies that has our heart. You can post up with your laptop for the morning or just stop by for an oat milk latte and a pastry out of the filled-to-the-brim case, where Omilinsky lets her creativity run wild (Chicago-style hot dog croissant, anyone?). Or stop by for lunch and have a Turkey Rachel sandwich. Whatever you need, Daisies has it.
