After a March fire slowed construction on their nearly completed pub, the folks behind Beckett’s Public House and Wilde Bar & Restaurant opened their third writer-themed spot, Lady Gregory’s, last month. Named after the Irish dramatist Isabella Augusta Persse (who got her moniker after marrying a knight), the Andersonville bar boasts 19 drafts of beer, an impressive whiskey selection, and fare such as Guinness and mushroom shepherd’s pie. Our photographer dropped by Friday night and snapped patrons enjoying Lady Gregory’s offerings—as well as its dark wood paneling, dim lights, and shelves lined with (leather-bound?) books. Is it just us, or does this joint seem like a place Ron Burgundy would love?
