Every two years, the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago takes over a gorgeous North Shore mansion and invites architects, interior designers, and landscapers to transform it for the Lake Forest Showhouse and Gardens.

This year’s star, an Italian-Renaissance-style 15,000-square-foot villa designed in 1916 by David Adler—and gussied up by 30 different Chicago area design pros over the past few months—promises to be one of the best yet.

Starting this Saturday through May 19, you’ll be able to walk the grounds and explore the interior rooms (which include six bedrooms). During the three-week run, there will also be some special appearances and talks, including one featuring HGTV’s Monica Pedersen on May 1.

Tickets are available online for $35; $40 at the door—and the money goes to the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago.
