If you live in an old house with a dated kitchen, chances are, you dream of an update. Every night. (Or is that just me?)
But you don’t want just any update. You want one that fits the style of your vintage home, without necessarily looking traditional. For this, you could probably use some ideas. Here's what you have to do.
Head to Oak Park/River Forest this weekend for Paranthesis Family Center’s annual Kitchen Walk. Seeing the work of 10 different designers live and in person offers a great lesson in how a new kitchen—whether modern or traditional—can blend in with the décor of an older home.
Another highlight of this event: Chef Denise Norton of Flavour Cooking School in Forest Park will be working her culinary magic in one of the homes.
Tickets can be purchased in advance via the Kitchen Walk Website and at select local Oak Park retailers (listed on the website), for $40; or for $45 the day of the walk.
