Those of us who have been in the Chicago design scene for a while remember the incredible selection at Hannoun Rugs very well—and recall how sad we were when owner Mark Hannoun closed up shop to head east.

Good news: He’s back.

You’ll find more than 1,500 Moroccan rugs, including every designer’s favorite—the simple, geometric, and very expensive Beni Ouarain rugs—at the new location of Hannoun Rugs in Wicker Park (2140 W. North Ave., 773-227-1400). The just-opened showroom is full of vintage, hand-knotted, one-of-a-kind beauties. It's open from noon to 5 p.m. (although owner Mark Hannoun says that making an appointment is best).

There will also be a summer-only showroom in the Hamptons starting next year—if you happen to summer there.
