Chicago Home + Garden magazine’s fourth annual Chairs for Charity auction is back Wednesday, September 18, and the 13 chairs on the block are looking pretty fantastic.
For the event, vintage chairs were revived by some of the city’s most talented designers. Auction proceeds will benefit Designs for Dignity, which creates inviting environments for non-profit organizations.
So, let’s take a look at our contenders. (We’ll start with two.)
Up first, it's the Kendra chair (right) by Tiffany Brooks vs. the Stratum (left) by Nicholas Moriarty.
Inspired by an Alexander McQueen dress, the curvy, flowery Kendra is begging for a fashionista to take her home. (P.S. Brooks was the winner of the last season of HGTV's Design Star.)
Not that the Stratum isn’t oozing with style—but smooth Moriarty played the quiet-elegance card. A minimalist at heart, he believes that “gimmicks need not apply when it comes to making a statement.”
Which chair would you choose?
You decide September 18, 6 to 8:30 p.m., at Cosentino Center Chicago (1060 W. Division St.). Complimentary drinks and appetizers will be served. Tickets, $35; purchase here.
