Modern Cooperative, one of the coolest vintage stores in Pilsen, has a new home in the nabe's historic Thalia Hall building(1215 W. 18th Street), where Longman & Eagle proprieters Bruce Finkelman and Craig Golden just opened Dusek's Board and Beer.
To go along with the new address, the store also has a brand new tagline: "Where vintage modern meets handmade." That’s because with the extra room gained from the move, the shopowners are expanding their line of homemade goods to complement the mid-century modern furniture and accessories that make up the backbone of their inventory.
You’ll now be able to shop the work of 30 Chicago artisans, including 12 super-local cottage industries based in Pilsen. One of the latter is an exclusive-to-the-store line from SOLO made up of cutting boards, doormats, coasters, and trivets that are all repurposed from recycled bicycle parts and salvaged wood.
