NORTHFIELD
FROM $1.195 million
TO $1.295 million
Behind The Isabella, the new condo development at 1884 Old Willow Road in Northfield, a large stretch of public land slopes down to the Middle Fork of the Chicago River—which means that empty nesters moving out of a spacious suburban house need not forgo the big backyard.
Bob Wolkoff, whose Group One Investments is developing The Isabella, has included some other things that he thinks empty nesters won’t want to give up. They include crown moldings, baseboards, large windows, and, adjacent to the master bath, a dressing area. “They want to downsize, but they don’t want to step down to a lower-quality home,” Wolkoff says.
Designed by the architect John Myefski, the Tudor-style building has six units with 2,300 square feet that start at $1.195 million and go up to $1.295 million. The price includes two spaces in the heated underground garage. Each of the six units has a screened porch that overlooks that wide open space out back—and two of those porches (each 36 feet wide) have a fireplace. Occupancy is slated for fall 2009. Beverly Smith of Jean Wright Real Estate is the listing agent on the project.
