This barbecue joint morphs into a Nashville- style honky-tonk at night, complete with live tunes. Don’t fret if you can’t find seats near the stage: The view is fine from either of the two bars, where 100-plus whiskeys flow. A late-night menu includes ’cue sandwiches and a variety of fried delights. Cocktails are sweet, strong, and well made—not unlike those of Bub City’s next- door neighbor, Three Dots and a Dash (No. 1). A Sunday-supper-appropriate Stone Fence (Evan Williams bourbon, lemon, and apple cider) feels surprisingly at home.
Who’s there: A postwork Loop crowd followed by party people
