The operative word here is cute: cute chef/owner, cute waitress, cute plating, cute tiny storefront. Yet at night there’s something almost forlorn about the location at the far edge of downtown Geneva, as if you can sense the great agricultural emptiness to the west. It’s an unlikely setting for terrific Mexican food, but that’s exactly what Ricardo García-Rubio serves up, with searingly spicy chipotle shrimp tacos and rich, poblano-flecked creamy corn soup among the must-eats. At press time, Bien Trucha had just gotten its liquor license and, we’re guessing, some really good margaritas. 410 W. State St., Geneva; 630-232-2665.
