One of the greatest joys of dining out in a big city is uncovering bargains. Since they often hide in plain sight behind unassuming storefronts, it takes real time and effort to find them. We did the work for you. To make it onto the 30-restaurant list that follows, an eatery had to be a sit-down place that has waitstaff and serves dinner until at least 7 p.m. (which excludes takeout spots—a whole other story). It had to offer an amazing meal that costs no more than $23 per person, excluding tax and tip. (Most restaurants on the list charge far less.) And it had to have been in business for no more than two years (the better to help you find spots you don’t already know about). Now all you need to do is eat.
