Up next in our series of weekend plans from notable, in-the-know locals—a.k.a. people we like: Eva Wolchover, a producer at NPR’s weekly quiz show Wait Wait!…Don’t Tell Me! This week, the show features Jake Tapper, the White House correspondent for ABC. Wait Wait!…Don’t Tell Me! airs on Saturdays at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

“We tape Wait Wait!…Don't Tell Me! on Thursday nights, so by Friday I'm usually too wiped out to do anything that doesn’t involve sitting in a chair for ninety-nine percent of the night. My boyfriend and I will probably go to dinner in our neighborhood, Andersonville. Jin Ju on Clark Street is a favorite. They serve delicious bibimbap and lychee martinis. Their martinis are so good I’m usually willing to overlook the fact lychees look like floating eyeballs. Then we'll likely head over to the Hopleaf, decide it's way too crowded, and end up at Simon's up the street, where their year-round Christmas decorations are finally in season again.

“On Saturday I plan to get crafty and make some holiday gifts and cards for my friends and family. If you're related to me, and reading this, sorry for all the knitted hats. In order to prepare for crafting, I'll head to Sifu Design for the wonderful hand-spun yarns in varying degrees of softness and itchiness. Later I'll most likely head to dinner at Cafe Orchid on Lincoln and Addison for Turkish food. It's BYOB. In case that’s confusing, that doesn’t mean Bring Your Own Baby. I might also see Lincoln at the Landmark Century in Lakeview. I would love to see Anna Karenina but alas, my boyfriend is a boy.

“Sunday, I'll take my dog Beau to the Montrose dog beach. I love going in the winter when no one's around except for really rugged, sporty dogs and their owners. Beau is the opposite of sporty, but I'm hoping he'll pick up a few tricks. Sunday night I’ll cook dinner and watch Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares on the couch, unless someone wants to go see Anna Karenina, anyone?” —As told to Elly Fishman
