Q87.7 served up one heck of a musical spread at PIQNIQ, the daylong fest held Saturday at First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre.

Whereas Lolla's crowd may carry a certain "Check me out, I'm hip, here to impress and see obscure bands" air, Piqniq-goers seemed like a bunch of people that realized $20 for ten hours of good, popular music was a great way to spend a sunny summer Saturday.

Musical highlights included Gavin Rossdale and company playing one of the greatest songs of the 90s (Glycerine!) and AWOLNATION cranking out a newish hit (Sail).

Attendees may not have known all the songs played that day, or even all of the bands, but they seemed to just love music. And that was pretty damn cool.
