Queer dance collective Chances Dances took over the Museum of Contemporary Art’s First Fridays series for a night of avant-garde performances and ambient electronic music.

Climbing up the stairs to the second floor, you were treated to the pliant wailing of Meg Leary, an opera singer who traded in her arias for a more visceral effect. Dancers decked in glittery vinyl harnesses (by local designer Gnat Brilmyer) gyrated on platforms to the tunes of various Chances DJs. Burlesque and drag artists broke into seemingly impromptu performances.

An army of performers called the ‘Jerry Blossom Brigade,’ led by artist Kiam Marcelo Junio, marched through the museum, while artist Erica Gressman, stood on a platform, slowly shedding layers of white spandex.
