CHICAGO HUMAN RHYTHM PROJECT
7/29–8/3 Rhythm World 23. This annual tap festival includes performances of the newest tap and percussive dance, including Tap Showcase (at 8), which brings together master practitioners and improvisers, and Emerging Voices (at 7:30), which showcases the “discoveries” from the festival’s workshop component. $10–$32. THE CHICAGO MOVING COMPANY
7/25–26 Dances for 9.99. The focus of this festival is “developing and underproduced” artists—that is, choreographers who rarely get to show their artistry onstage. MUNTU DANCE THEATRE OF CHICAGO
