The finalists for the Peter Lisagor Awards, which honor Chicago-area journalists for excellence in reporting, writing, design, and photography, will be announced at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Billy Goat Tavern. As you can see by the stack of awards in the image above, our very own Bryan Smith has won his fair share. Will he be nominated again tonight? Fingers crossed!

Chicago Headline Club, the local Society of Professional Journalists chapter, hosts the award and judges the competition across more than 100 categories. After tonight's nominating event, we'll have to wait until May 3 to know the winners. But Aimee DeBat, executive director of Chicago Headline Club, says Chicago magazine is a finalist in a few categories. No word on how many, though. Bryan, this could be your year. Again.
