Lookingglass Theatre announces its 2015–16 season
On top of the previously announced Treasure Island helmed by Mary Zimmerman, the Michigan Ave. theater company will present Blood Wedding and the world premiere of Kevin Douglas's Thaddeus and Slocum: A Vaudeville Adventure.
Buddy Guy is headlining Blues Fest
Along with Taj Mahal, Billy Branch, Eddy Clearwater, Syl Johnson, Zora Young, Clarence Carter, and Toronzo Cannon. This year's June 12–14 freebie will toast Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon. Again, more details in our summer music guide.
Lollapalooza three-days sell out; lineup and one-days come tomorrow
Three-day passes to music's foremost shopping mall went on sale this morning and sold out in—surprise!—less than an hour. The lineup goes live tomorrow at the very un-rock 'n' roll hour of 6 a.m., and one-day passes go on sale at 10 a.m.—Christmas in March if ever there was one.
The Harris Theater announces a classical-heavy 2015–16 season
The Loop theater's 2015-16 season will feature performances by Itzhak Perlman, Pinchas Zukerman, Gil Shaham, and Joshua Bell, plus the Chicago premiere of Richard Danielpour's Songs of Love and Longing co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall. Check out the entire season here.
