It'll be Chicago v. Chicago at the 2015 White House Correspondents' Dinner when SNL star and Oak Park native Cecily Strong roasts President Obama and the White House press corps. Strong, who's appeared on SNL's Weekend Update as both an anchor and correspondent (Girl You Wish You Wouldn't Have Started a Conversation with at a Party), is the fourth female comic to host in 82 years of the dinner, which was closed to women entirely until 1962.
Strong joins a long list of one-time Chicagoans who've hosted the Correspondents' Dinner, including Seth Meyers, Conan O'Brien, and Stephen Colbert. It's also worth noting that the list of past hosts reads like a Farm League for late-night television; in addition to Meyers, O'Brien, and Colbert, Jon Stewart, Jimmy Kimmel, Craig Ferguson, and Jay Leno have all hosted the dinner. Could that mean Late Night with Cecily Strong come 2020? Sure hope so.
