Amid an outcry from local musicians at the election of Donald Trump, Chicago trumpeter and frequent Chance the Rapper collaborator Nico Segal is killing off his stage name.

In a statement on Twitter this morning, the Whitney Young grad (formerly Donnie Trumpet) asked to be called by his birth name to quash "the connection people are drawing between [Trump's] name and mine." He's since scrubbed the nickname from his social media channels, rebranding as @nicosegal on Twitter and Instagram.
