THE JOFFREY BALLET
9/19–21 at 7:30, 9/22 at 2 Russian Masters. Twentieth-century Russian choreographers forever changed—some would say modernized—ballet. The Joffrey certainly thinks so. Catch two iconic Russian works, Nijinsky’s The Rite of Spring and Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante, as well as the rising star Yuri Possokhov’s 2011 piece Bells. $31–$152. WINIFRED HAUN AND DANCERS
9/27–28 at 7:30 Vision, Faith and Desire: Dancemakers Inspired by Martha Graham. Considered the mother of modern American dance, Martha Graham continues to leave a sizeable legacy. All six choreographers in this show attended or taught at Graham’s school, and they premier new works inspired by the woman who changed it all. $30.
