The annual One of a Kind Show and Sale is at the Merchandise Mart December 5-8, with more than 600 juried artists, craftspeople and designers from across North America showcasing their handmade creations. The key word here is juried—so the stuff is vetted, and, for the most part, great.
Find ceramics, fiber art, furniture, art glass, photography, sculpture, and more. (The charming, diminutive bronze-glasses sculpture shown here is by Mexican sculptor Manuel Ferreiro.)
One of the highlights is the Etsy New Artist Pavilion, featuring 29 Etsy sellers. This year’s show also includes a finger knitting tutorial by Marcie McGoldrick, Editorial Director of Martha Stewart Living, on December 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the artistic activities area. (Who will be that special someone on your list who gets an item finger-knitted by yours truly?)
Tickets are $12; children 12 and under are free. A portion of all ticket sales will benefit Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital.
