Nate Berkus was busy last week. Not only did his new show
premiere, but he also unveiled a long-awaited kitchen overhaul at Nettelhorst School complete with breakfast prepared and served by Chicago chef-of-the-moment Stephanie Izard and private chef Lorin Adolph. Painted brick, simple white cabinets from Home Depot and a floor plan from a pro turned the space into a beautiful teaching kitchen for the students (the school hopes to offer adult cooking classes in the future). Idea to steal: the art wall—a great way to display your children’s work. Nate might be taping his show in New York, but it’s good to know his heart is still in Chicago!
