There is no lack of artwork featuring different Chicago neighborhoods—there’s the classic design from Ork Posters, art showing landmarks from different hoods by StudioChris, and tons more.
But when I saw the brand new neighborhood series from local artist Matthew Lew, all of those other posters vanished from my mind. Lew’s images are fun visual puzzles that make you guess which neighborhood they represent. Bucktown? A deer with the word "town" between its antlers. Gold Coast? Gold type spelling out the word "coast". Ravenswood? A raven and some wood. Wicker Park? An image of a wicker chair with the word "park" on top of it. Others—like &orsunville—are not so obvious.
Lew is working on more, so don’t be disappointed if you don’t see your home turf yet.
