Local artist Colleen Toledano makes ceramics that are beautiful and feminine while also being a little strange and thought provoking. See for yourself at the opening of her solo show “This or That” at the Ukrainian Village shop Paperish Mess (1955 W. Chicago Ave).

The opening, which is Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m., will feature Toledano’s new functional ceramics (think vases and mugs) as well as cool conceptual sculptures. And, because it’s a party after all, there will be drinks, cupcakes from Sweet Cakes Bakery, and live music by a bunch of local musicians.

If you can’t make it to the opening, you’ll have all of April to check out the show. And if you haven’t been to Paperish Mess at all yet, you absolutely need to go anyway.
