Step aside boys—it’s time for the ladies to steal the spotlight. An exhibit called Skirt, which features the work of women designers, just opened at Manifold (4426 N. Ravenswood Ave.).
Put on by the League of Women Designers, the exhibit shows pieces created in response to the word “skirt” and cuts across different areas of design: architecture, interior design, product design, and more. Participants include furniture makers Bridgette Buckley, Elizabeth Fiersten, and Eve Fineman, designer Jennifer Farrell of Starshaped Press (whose work is shown here), artist Jamie Hayes, and many more.
This exhibit is the debut event for the League of Women Designers Chicago, which was started by Kari Merkl of Merkled Studio, and will be up through July 27.
