Spring at Linly Designs
It’s happening guys. Daylight savings time is this weekend and we are a short 13 days away from the first day of spring. And what better way to welcome the (ever-so-slightly) warmer weather than by freshening up your home?
To help you do just that, Linly Designs is hosting a fun open house all weekend at both locations (1766 2nd St. in Highland Park and 445 W. Ogden Ave. in Clarendon Hills). You’ll find special Easter and Passover décor and spring décor inspirations, like the wreath-like egg basket above. Linly also does one of my favorites: filling glass jars with lemons or artichokes.
While there, you’ll get the chance to pick out a store-wide discount amount from a jar (10 to 30 percent off all in-stock merchandise). Another reason to go? For the entire month of March, Linly Designs is offering free painting of one room with the purchase of window treatments. We think someone’s excited about spring.
Farewell, Chiasso
It’s much more fun to talk about store openings than closings, but every now and then a shop shutters its doors. If you haven’t heard yet, Chicago-based modern décor store Chiasso has announced it’s going out of business. The Wilmette location is already closed but the Lincoln Park store (2112 N. Clybourn, 773-244-4100) will be open through April 5.
Now, for the silver lining: Merchandise at the store is marked 40 to 80 percent off to help clear the shelves. Also, mark your calendars for April 12-14. Chiasso is holding one final warehouse sale that weekend in Bolingbrook (473 Woodcreek Dr.) and you’ll be able to find items up to 90 percent off. As good as those deals are, we are definitely sad to see Chiasso go.
Treat Your Table
Your table just called and it’s been feeling kind of neglected. Soothe its hurt feelings by buying it something special from Tabula Tua (1015 W. Armitage Ave., 773-525-3500). This weekend—Friday, Saturday, and Sunday—is the shop’s warehouse sale, so you’ll be able to buy discontinued patterns, store samples, and slightly damaged goods for 40 to 70 percent off. Find deals on Juliska, Mud Australia, Le Jacquard Francais, and Jules Pansu.
There will also be a special “fine china flea” with mix-and-match samples of older china patterns. And don’t worry. Your table will never find out you didn’t pay full-price. We promise.
