Vintage Pine’s (1454 N. Dayton St.) annual One Magnificent Flea Market is Saturday, August 2. What’s so magnificent, you ask? For starters, the event planning company Heffernan Morgan Ronsley is bringing three (yes, three) truckloads of party props: glassware, urns, vases, candleholders, floral arrangements, holiday decorations, and more. Other vendors include Boutique Home and Millionaire Rejects. Find furniture, artwork, lamps, vintage accessories, fabrics, and pillows.

Also this Saturday at Vintage Pine, there will be an Annie Sloan chalk paint demo from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Company expert Susan Lynk will answer all of your questions about this nifty paint that goes over just about anything (wood, brick, metal, varnish, shellac, wax). There is a cool new (and free) app, called Curate, out there for nervous (and smart) art buyers. Nervous, that is, about the possibility that their new investment will not look so hot in their house. Curate allows you to see artwork, accurately scaled to size, on your walls. Developed by sisters Cari Sacks, an art collector, and Patti Bartelstein, an artist, it grew out of their own experiences with needing to Photoshop paintings onto virtual walls before feeling confident about opening their wallets.
