We all need some painted furniture in our life. It's part of the special mix that makes a room a party: a little wood, a little metal, a little soft stuff, and little painted wood.
But painted furniture can look a bit country frou-frou. That's where MegMade comes in. Owned by vintage-collectors-turned-small-business-owners Meg and Joe Piercy, the shop at 1623 W. Montrose Ave. is filled with dressers and consoles painted mostly in neutral slate grays and putties, along with more traditional antique-looking stained wood pieces and other vintage finds mixed in. (They also sell their goods on Chicago magazine's Classifieds site.)
