Here’s the second sneak peak of a chair designed for Chairs for Charity that was promised last week. This week we spoke with Alaina Kaczmarski and Danielle Moss, the cofounders of Everygirl.com, a website geared towards creative, career-driven women. They designed this classic neutral and versatile chair with the Everygirl Manifesto in mind:
Whether she is searching for her dream job [or chair]
or a new city to call home;
is saving up for a down payment or a trip to Europe;
is learning to cook or speak another language,
she wants a little guidance. She wants to be inspired.
She is The Everygirl.
This is for her.
Where did you find the vintage chair?
Our favorite resource: Craigslist!
What were the materials used to redesign the chair?
This fabric from Loom Décor.
Where did you find the inspiration for your chair design?
We went with what we love: classic neutrals but fun and interesting! We knew we wanted to use fabric from a friend's start-up, Loom Decor, and found a classic French style chair we both loved to refinish.
What was the process of designing and putting together the chair?
We worked with the talented folks at Eli Wyn Upholstery for the recovering and painting process – we didn't want to risk doing it ourselves and messing it up!
How would you incorporate your chair into a space?
We are big believers that when it comes to the big furniture items in a home, neutral is the way to go. They're great investments because they'll mix and match as your style changes with time. This chair could work in almost any style or type of room: contemporary living room, glam bedroom, or an eclectic office!
Next week we'll reveal our last chair before the actual event on March 26. Tickets for Chairs for Charity can be purchased in advanced here.
