Scout
Garth Borovicka, who makes beautiful wood boxes lined with decorative paper (shown here) and funky wood bookends topped with miniature forest dioramas, is having a trunk show at Andersonville’s Scout November 16 and his work will be there through the holiday season.
Vintage Garage
The Vintage Garage Holiday Market is November 16 and 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Vintage Garage’s indoor location (1134 W. Granville), just north of Broadway Antique Mall and just south of Edgewater Antique Mall (giving you a good excuse to make it a day of vintage shopping). Find furniture, advertising memorabilia, games, holiday decor, glassware, furniture, and more. And don’t forget to wear your ugliest holiday sweater because it may win you a yet-to-be-determined prize. Admission $5.
The Golden Triangle
This weekend, River North artifact and antique store The Golden Triangle opens its annual in-store holiday gift market filled with home goods from around the globe. Stop by Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., when all purchases are 20 percent off. The market runs through December 31.
Unison
The local home décor company Unison is opening a holiday pop-up shop November 15 at 1911 W. Division St. (next door to the clothing boutique Penelope’s). This is a great source for stocking stuffers, such as the wood color-dipped bottle openers ($14 each), or more substantial gifts, such a buffalo red-and-black check wool throw ($100).
