A lifesaver for us in those times we just couldn’t face making another martini ourselves, and a financial lifeline for bars, to-go cocktails became a key offering this past year. And they’ll be sticking around for a while — the state bill allowing them has been extended through 2023. Julia Momose, Kumiko’s creative director, led the charge to legalize them, and it’s no surprise she was serving some of the city’s best, like her Ume Boulevardier. Other spots, including Queen Mary and Three Dots and a Dash, also jumped on board, and delivery cocktails soon followed — the bright, fizzy drinks from Hello, Cocktails, brought right to my door, helped brighten the darkest days.
