Vintage Frills 

It’s not often that a shop is born in a hot-pink school bus. But Vintage Frills owner Jen Kelly isn’t one to fit the mold. She started hawking retro goods in a mobile shop she called the Vintage Fleet to give access to neighborhoods lacking in thrift shops. Her Avondale boutique opened last summer, welcoming one and all to browse a wide selection of women’s clothing from the ’40s and beyond — most of which is organized by colors. (Feeling chill? Hit the Blue Room.) Items like rotary phones and Super 8 cameras area also a blast from the past. Local creations, like jewelry from the Vintage Royalty, make an appearance, too. 2846 N.
