Best Intentions
After the beloved cocktail bar closed at the start of the pandemic, owners (and brothers) Chris and Calvin Marty played it safe, staying shut well after other spots reopened. For a while, with no signs of life, it looked like the joint might be gone for good — that is, until early this spring, when whispers arose about deliveries being dropped off out front and people being seen going inside. Finally, in April, a note, appropriately written on a cocktail coaster, appeared on the outside wall: “We back.” Indeed, they are, along with some tasty new dishes, like the Cuppa Shrimp (a heap of cornmeal-breaded crustaceans that are, yep, served in a cup) and a “huge Reuben sandwich.” Most important, though, the bar’s laid-back vibes are intact. 3281 W.
