Husband-and-wife team John Shields and Karen Urie Shields (pictured) recently picked up their third Michelin star for their fine-dining restaurant, Smyth, but we are honestly happiest when eating at their more casual spot, located below Smyth in a subterranean space. There’s a good chance you’re here for the Loyalist OG cheeseburger, with its tangles of pickled and charred onions. But don’t miss the French classics John Shields does so well: the gorgeous omelet filled with Camembert; the beautiful roast chicken, whose preparation changes seasonally; the green salad with walnut praline and avocado. The brunch rocks, too.
