A Bountiful Find
Hidden under the el tracks in a galleryworthy space in Fulton Market, Koros may prove to be the best store you’ve never heard of.

WHO After years of bringing friends booty from her European trips, Kristen Skordilis abandoned a plan for opening a Pilates studio when the idea of a specialty boutique took hold.
WHAT Elegant, hard-to-find women’s clothing
WHERE 1019 W. Lake St.; 312-738-0155
Named for a Greek goddess whose cup overfloweth, Koros brims with clothing and accessories from brands like Hugo Boss Orange, Alvin Valley, Majestic Paris, and Sportmax. Just as the interior consists of the brightest basics highlighted by creative flourishes, Skordilis has likewise edited her assemblage of European and American designers. Try it all on; dressing rooms are luxuriously equipped with fluffy bathrobes for in-between changes.
A stylist through and through, Skordilis likes to mix tough elements like an Orciani belt (left, $233) with soft basics like this Rogues Gallery tee ($79).
Jeans are still key. The lean cuts and careful washes created by BYA, a local line (right, from $189), pair perfectly with a sharply tailored Strenesse jacket ($568) or Alicia Bell’s pretty pleat-sleeved blouses ($205).
