On Chicago’s Northwest Side, just south of Wilbur Wright College, the neighborhood of Dunning has witnessed a recent blossoming of condo developments, including the big, 11-year-old Glenlake Condominiums complex. Now another housing option-upscale townhouses-has appeared on the scene with the arrival of Dunning Courtes at 4137 North Narragansett Avenue.

With a design by Fitzgerald and Associates that evokes the Prairie style, each of the townhouses has more than 3,000 square feet of living space, as well as a rooftop deck. Although more expensive than their neighbors-resale prices for the significantly smaller units at Glenlake generally fall below $300,000-the spacious homes at Dunning Courtes provide a less costly alternative to the pricier homes on the lakefront or in Lincoln Park, says Helen Oliveri, the Coldwell Banker agent handling sales for this project.
At press time, seven units, each ready for immediate occupancy, remained for sale in the second phase of ten townhouses. At the lower end, $510,000 buys a 3,074-square-foot three-bedroom home. At the upper end, $580,000 fetches a 3,300-foot three-bedroom home with an extra-wide (27 feet) layout.
