When Mufarreh received her MBA from Dalhousie University in Canada in 2006, her grandfather was the first person on the dance floor at her graduation party. She describes the moment as her crowning achievement. “I come from an immigrant family—my family is from Palestine and a lot of my relatives didn’t make it to college,” she says. Supporting education continues to be one of her passions. She’s on the board of The Young Women’s Leadership Charter School in Bronzeville as well as the board of the Grant Park Music Festival. In her down time, she’s a Flywheel devotee and loves to cook. Her specialty? “I make the best baby back ribs.”
